Pepper & Garlic BBQ

Asian Black Pepper & Garlic BBQ Sauce

If you are tired of tomato BBQ sauces, this is very good and very different.  It has a little kick but not too much.  Make sure you use low sodium soy sauce or the BBQ sauce is too salty.

¾ cup
low sodium soy sauce
¼ cup
water
1 cup
light brown sugar
¼ cup
mirin
2 tbl
sesame oil
1 tsp
rice wine vinegar
1 tbl
coarsely ground black pepper
1 head
garlic, peeled and minced
1
green onion, both the green and white parts, finely chopped


Add all the ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a boil.  Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the sauce reduces to about half or whatever your desired consistency is.  This recipe makes ¾ to 1 cup.
