Biscuits & Sausage Gravy

Biscuits and gravy are so southern and so good.  Normally they are made with homemade biscuits, but we use store bought biscuits to make breakfast easier.

Breakfast For 2
Breakfast For 4

Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers refrigerated biscuits (or a comparable refrigerated biscuit)
½ lb 1 lb

5 tbl + 1 tsp
⅓ cup AP flour
1½ cups
3 cups
whole milk
¼ tsp ½ tsp salt
¼ to ½ tsp
½ to 1 tsp
freshly ground black pepper

Bake the biscuits according to the package directions.

While the biscuits are baking, brown the sausage in a large non-stick skillet.  Break the sausage apart as it cooks.

Now add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring to combine.

Slowly whisk in the milk.  Simmer this for 2 or 3 minutes while stirring.  While you are stirring, add the salt and pepper.

Take a biscuit, open it up, lace it on a plate, and cover with the sausage gravy.

So good and so easy.  They aren't low calorie but they sure taste good.
